Medal of Honor Airborne – 360 – Preview

E3 2007 Preview

What would a
Medal of Honor game be without a lot of action almost from the moment you launch
the game? EA knows a winning formula and Medal of Honor not only embraces that
formula but builds on the franchise with a few new tweaks.

The game
follows the exploits of the 82nd Airborne, and there are six major
player operations, which excludes all the multiplayer elements (which an EA rep
stated was akin to multiplayer elements featured in Allied Assault).

Part of the
charm of Airborne is the ability to drop into any area of the zone map. You can
drop behind enemy lines, and wait for support to catch up to you, or you can
play it safer. The AI is completely procedural and the overall game design is
non-linear in that you can tackle objectives in any order. Deaths are based on
location of the hit and the type/power of bullet that hits you. When you die,
you go back to parachute in and can drop in anywhere on the map. The battles
will continue on and ground may be gained or lost toward accomplishing the
objective.

If a grenade is
tossed your way, you can always kick them back before they go off.

And count on
between 60 and 90 minutes per mission.

Graphically,
Airborne is a solid-looking game and if the eye candy does not pull you into
this WWII shooter, then the sound of the game will certainly add to the
immersion.

Medal of
Honor is a highly touted series and Airborne will certainly add to its legacy.
Expect this title to release on the PC, 360 and PS3 platforms.
