Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude – XB – Preview

A little more than a quarter of a century ago,
there was a publication that thrived on innuendo and outright irreverence.
National Lampoon was clever, it was nasty, and it was a biting commentary on the
times. The Lampoon of that time would have loved Leisure Suit Larry.

High Voltage Software, in partnership with
Vivendi Universal Games, is releasing Leisure Suit Larry: Magnum Cum Laude at
the end of the year for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC platforms.

In a word, this adventure is about sex. Larry
Lovage is a typical college student who is given an extraordinary chance. A TV
dating show gives him the opportunity to be a campus legend if he can get any
girl on campus to swoon over him. What follows is a romp through scenarios that
boast some rather blatant sexual references and borderline bad taste – you know,
a typical Leisure Suit Larry adventure.

A mini-game may have Larry engaged in a
conversation with a campus lovely. How well he does is directly affected by how
well the player is doing at the bottom of the screen in the side-scrolling
version of R-Type Final, although instead of using fighters and such, the game
uses comical cartoon-like characters that could be mistaken for … well … sperm.
And what he is dodging is … well, better leave that alone.

As should be obvious, this game is expected to
get a Mature rating.
