Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories – GBA – Preview

Kingdom
Hearts: Chain of Memories is a continuation of the original Kingdom Hearts.
Sora’s memories have been stolen, so you must revisit the areas from the first
Kingdom Hearts to try and get them back.

Sora’s
on his own this time around, but through special battle decisions he can call
some old friends to come help him out. The battles are still in real time, but
this time choices are made with cards. Different cards have different attributes
and the potential of different attacks. There are magic cards, attack cards,
summon cards, and more. Different cards have different values labeled on them,
and each value will cause varying levels of damage. Combining certain cards can
even result in a special attack or combo.

The
cards come into play in more places than just the battles. In dungeons you will
have to use cards to unlock doors into new areas. Also, depending on the card
you choose, different effects will take place in the coming room. Dungeon
navigation is done through a map where you can see each room and where each one
goes. Rooms where the story takes place are colored yellow, so if you’re not
done exploring you will know not to go there yet.

At the
moment they are planning to have 13 levels, but between now and its September
release there may be more included. Even though the battles are handled
differently, the overall theme and feel of the game remains the same.
