Xbox 360 Cracked

Team PI Coder, a group of crackers, has announced that it has discovered the basic workings of the file system used in Microsoft’s Xbox 360. The group says that it managed to dig out the raw data for thirteen Xbox 360 titles, and has made a program available that helps crackers extract the data.

For now, not much can be done with the raw data. Team PI Coder has not yet managed to get data off game discs — but rather they dug out the version of the game that the Xbox 360 creates during play. “You can’t run these dumps yet, but you will be able to sooner or later,” Team PI Coder stated on a website.

Team PI Coder hopes to help other crackers defeat the Xbox 360’s anti-piracy measures. “So the first task is done. We hope this encourages all hackers, coders and crackers out there to take up the challenge,” Team PI Coder stated.

In response to Team PI Coder’s cracking, a Microsoft spokesperson has stated that the Xbox 360 has several security systems in place to prevent pirated games from being played. The spokesperson also stated that the hardware of the Xbox 360 will only allow Microsoft certified and signed programs to run on the console, and that pirated games would not be recognized by the console and would not run.
