Following a revelation in the Official Xbox Magazine, new information has turned up regarding a high res enhanced version of Halo 2 that may ship with the Xbox 2. From Team Xbox, “‘Halo 2.5 will be an Xbox 2 launch title and is going to run in HDTV resolution with new, improved textures and graphical effects. All the stuff that people expected from Halo 2 but didnt make the cut will be there.'”
“‘The technology that powers Halo 2 has been designed from day one to take advantage of the next generation hardware,’ the insider added. ‘In Halo 2, the Xbox was pushed to its limits but now the game will reach new heights with the advanced hardware.'”
“But that is not the only info our insider had for us as soon after he dropped the bomb: ‘Now, here is the twist. Halo 2.5 will come preloaded with the optional HDD. It’ll be one of the two reasons to get the Xbox 2 that comes with a hard drive. The other reason well, youll just have to wait.'”
“This is stupid. Why not start with Halo 3…..my God, so stupid…”
Well, it seems like Bungie is hung by a a ‘bungie’ cord. Other than that, I recently spoke with one of the developers (graphics texture artist) and he said, “Halo 3 would take a while to make but we’ll see what we can cook up!” I’m listening to him and I’m like; ‘what the hell is wrong with these people?’ If there’s any clue of Halo 2.5 being distributed out for the Xbox 2, for now, it’s probably a rumor.
“Will people buy the same game over again that quick? I mean people are still buying Halo 1.”
You know, Halo 2.5 may sound like sequel to Halo 2. I thought about that too! Maybe Bungie is ‘jumping for joy’ and trying to tease us or just we’ve just created a big lie. Lying to your parent is one thing, but lying about a video game being released to millions of people is another. Also, the reason people are still buying Halo 1 is because they either want it for a collection or they’ve never played it and want to try it out before learning about what Halo 2 is about.
“I doubt they are making that.”
They probably are, just not telling anyone. Let that be our job, as journalists to cover that as it becomes available.
