What did you miss about video games today? What were some of the gaming industry's most popular people tweeting about? I'll give you 10 tweets I found awesome, informative, weird, funny, stupid, or whatever, and then I'll give some commentary on it. Also, we've gotten a few submissions from fans that have been retweeted by developers, publishers, or other gaming journalists; so as long as I have one to put up, I'll include a fan submission too.
I didn't know that first-person painter was a genre. Maybe we should combine that with Call of Duty for a more robust color palette.
So today's Twitter craze was all about typing "Zerg Rush" into Google. If you haven't tried this today, then your country probably blocks you from using the internet. Go try it out for yourself.
I mean… I get it. But do they though? It's not like the Vita is selling that great, and there aren't that many titles with cross-platform play that's worth owning. The 3DS was a mess of a launch. Does Microsoft need to get into the handheld market at all? And even if they did, would they do it correctly? We saw what they did with the Zune…
If this is true, I feel bad for the actor that has to replace Robert Downey Jr.
Goldberg was the community manager for Saints Row. Good luck to you in your new endeavor!
This is awesome but also makes me panic. That's a lot of money to shell out over the course of a couple of weeks. I mean, it's a good problem to have, but my wallet is going to be crying. For me, BioShock Infinite and Assassin's Creed 3 are the must-haves out of these titles. Halo 4 and GTA V come next, mainly because I'm curious at what 343 will be doing with Halo 4 and whether GTA V will be better than GTA IV. Black Ops 2 is last for me because Black Ops was my least favorite Call of Duty, and I didn't think Modern Warfare 3 was much better. Even so, that lineup of games is ridiculous.
Must be nice. I live half a mile from the beach and I don't get to do this. I have actual work and editing to do. And a kid. But good for you Jessica… good for you.
Please, for the love of god, at least promise to rent this. It was such a good movie, and any lover of the sci-fi genre should see this. This is based off of the book that inspired most of your favorite sci-fi epics. It's a shame no one saw it in the theaters — mostly due to really bad and misdirected marketing — and I don't want it to cause a sequel to not be made. It's definitely worth a buy.
Well that wasn't creepy…
Tweet of the Day
Our Tweet of the Day goes to Andrew Reiner, the executive editor of Game Informer. Some big news today was the announcement and first looks at PlayStation Allstars Battle Royale — a Super Smash Bros.-esque fighting game with PlayStation exclusive characters. I was just saying this earlier today. Microsoft just doesn't have the stable of exlusive characters that Nintendo and Sony have. A game for the Xbox 360 would have to include all of the characters from the Halo and Gears of War games. And what else… Viva Pinata? Make sure you follow Andrew Reiner on Twitter @Andrew_Reiner.
