Having previously confirmed the cancellation of its XSN range, Xbox fans longing to know the future of franchises such as Amped and Top Spin, can today breathe a sigh of relief, as Take-Two confirmed that it has snapped up the Salt Lake City studio behind such franchises.
Confirmed prior to Take-Two’s financial report, specific details on exactly how the range will fit into their publishing schedule and indeed what titles are currently in development are still as of yet unknown.
It is however believed that Indie Built will now focus on the next-generation of home consoles, although naturally with no further ties to Microsoft this does mean that they’re no longer restricted to the Xbox2 in the future.
One thing is certain, is that it marks the end of Microsoft’s interest in the sports genre, whose newfound relationship with Electronic Arts on Xbox Live! has prompted the US giant to believe that the genre is well and truly catered for, both now and in the future.
