At the beginning of each year, Square Enix is known to make a public statement regarding their plans for the coming year. According to Square Enix president Yoichi Wada, big things are planed for the company. “In the near future, the rate of convergence between video games and other digital entertainment content will only continue to accelerate. It is for that reason we will make 2010 a year of taking root, in which we use this environment of change as an opportunity for establishing a strong foothold with which to lead the global entertainment industry,” he said.
Final Fantasy XIII is certainly a good start, but Square’s got a long way to go if they hope to make good on these goals.
