Square Enix has officially revealed a Nintendo DS remake of 1991’s Final Fantasy IV for the SNES.
The team that brought gamers the North American localized Final Fantasy III remake for the DS is once again behind the newly announced project. Similar to that of the third installment, Final Fantasy IV DS will step into third-dimension with entirely new character and monster designs, new cutscenes and an “evolved†version of the active battle system
The title is being helped by executive producer and director Takashi Tokita while Tomoya Asano will serve as producer. Other key members include Hiroyuki Ito as battle director, and Yoshinori Kaneda as storyboard chief. In a recent statement, the producer stated that he is quite confident the game will remain faithful to the original. The team is working closely with the original SNES developers to assure fans of the series complete authenticity. Advanced Media Network will keep you updated will all the developments.
