The Game Informer news truck just keeps on rolling. From the same info dump that brought us details on Guitar Hero IV now comes a rumor that Microsoft and Nintendo are set to release new consoles in less than three years’ time, specifically in 2010. No other details were mentioned, aside from an interesting tidbit saying that the new MS system would carry over achievements from the 360.
A 2010 release would make 5 years between consoles for MS and 4 years for Nintendo, which would be one year less than last time around for the former and one year longer for the latter. See, writers can do math too!
The GI rumor mill also made mention of a PS4 release in 2012, which would mean a two-year gap between the release of its competition’s products and itself.
