“Who Knew the Blood of the Gods Gave You Brain Freeze?”

Above, you see the start of Sony Computer Entertainment America’s promotion of God of War III, thanks to a partnership with Slurpee and Big Gulp Brands, the purveyors of the semi-frozen beverages bearing the same name found at 7-Eleven stores across the U.S. and Canada.

On the PlayStation.Blog, Slurpee & Big Gulp Brands Marketing Manager Evan Brody reveals that they have been working with Mountain Dew and Sony to create a “perfect blend of ferocious blackberries and frosty limes” known as “Kratos Fury.” It will serve as the featured Slurpee flavor of the month for both February and March, leading up to the game’s recently-announced March 16th release date.

The flavor will be accompanied by four different exclusive God of War III cups (while supplies last), which you can see in the image at the top. Presumably, the God of War III logo adorns the back of each.

The drink and cups will be available next week.

The fun doesn’t stop there, however. Between February 1st and March 31st, getting a drink will also allow you to collect Slurpee Nation rewards codes that can be redeemed at Slurpee.com for exclusive God of War III and Slurpee-themed downloadable content:

In addition to the Morpheus Armor above, there is also a God of War III Dynamic Theme, GoWIII promo t-shirts for Home characters (at least, that’s my guess, they don’t specify), and something called “God of War III: Creating the Chimera.”

In addition, picking up a 2-liter or 20oz Mountain Dew at 7-Eleven gets you an additional voucher redeemable for a Mountain Dew hoodie or God of War III “virtual t-shirt” (perhaps the same as the ones mentioned above?) in Home.

You can see pictures of the shirts and wallpaper at the PlayStation.Blog.

Finally, a shout-out to Kevin Butler for the headline.
