PSP Minis Playable on PS3 With Upcoming Firmware 3.15

Are you a fan of PSP’s Minis, but not a fan of the whole “PSP” thing? Well, Sony has you covered, with a newly-announced optional firmware update that will allow you to play the bite-sized titles on the big boy console. While games will not be able to be transferred between consoles, any Minis one has previously purchased on PSP can now be downloaded to PS3 free of charge.

To boot, Sony is throwing in the ability to transfer data from one PS3 to another with a simple ethernet cable – great news for PS3 early adopters who would like to upgrade to a fancy new slim model.

The firmware has not been dated for North America as of yet, but is confirmed for release in Europe on December 17 with the “majority” of Minis promised to be available. We’ll have more info as it breaks.
