The upcoming firmware update to version 3.30 for the PSP will offer an assortment of tweaks and enhancements. Perhaps most exciting, is the increased support for future PSone titles. One of the enhancements will allow for load speeds to be set for PSone games. However, increasing the speed can cause problems with some games. These titles can be downloaded via the PS3 onto your PSP.
The maximum resolution of video files has also been boosted, and thumbnails for items and videos can be displayed in the RSS section and PSP video folder respectively.
The update hasn’t been issued in the US or Europe yet. But for the eager, you can download the new firmware from the official Japanese website. The Japanese firmware even offers an option for English text, how convenient.
