For the first time ever, a Playstation Store North American Thursday update didn’t arrive on Thursday, but was mysteriously delayed to Friday morning. Sony has given no word on the cause, but the amount of content offered in this update may justify the delay for some.
Most shocking is the amount of full playable content offered in this update – three PSOne games, four demos, and a PSN game. Usually the North American store is lucky to get a single PSOne game while the Japanese store alternatively usually gets four-to-six PSOne games a week.
Those PSOne games are Tomb Raider 2, Cool Boarders 2, and SimCity 2000 – all for $5.99 each. The demos are for the new FEAR 2 campaign called “Reborn,” WET, DiRT 2, and NHL 10. The full game is The Legend of Han Tao at $14.99.
The main Add-on content in this update includes the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen DLC with the oldschool Transformers characters for $10. Also of note for $10 is the Star Wars The Force Unleashed Tatooine Missions pack and the Fight Night Round 4 Champions Pack for $5. Outside of that there’s just more Cross-Edge add-ons, Crash Commando DLC, and a little bit for LittleBigPlanet and Tiger Woods 10.
The only two trailers that seem to have made it over from GamesCom are for Heavy Rain and White Knight Chronicles. There are also two Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time trailers and a MAG trailer among other videos.
The only PSP content of note other than the PSOne games this week is DLC for the upcoming Rock Band Unplugged. The rest is just themes.
