Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Hits 5 Million Users

Nintendo has issued a press release today announcing that Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, its online gaming solution that hosts online play for over 60 DS games worldwide, has hit two notable milestones. Firstly, the service has reached 5 million unique users, and secondly, those users have combined for over 200 million gaming sessions.

Speaking on the success the WFC has enjoyed since its launch in November 2005, Nintendo of America President and Internet celebrity Reggie Fils-Aime said, “Nintendo DS gamers globally use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection as an easy, fun place to find fellow players, all without paying anything extra for the service. The milestones represent millions of hours of fun and camaraderie despite miles between players.”
