Good news for everyone who loves Nintendo advertising, as the Nintendo Channel (also known as the Everybody’s Nintendo Channel) is slated to come to the US alongside the launch of WiiWare next month, according to Wired.
For those lacking familiarity, the new Wii Channel will provide a variety of features, including the ability to download demos of DS games to the dual-screened device. As for WiiWare demos, still no dice, but according to Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, the new channel is how players will be able to get a feel for the new games. In addition, for those who have played a WiiWare title for at least an hour, there will be an option to review the game on the channel so that other Wii owners will be able to read them, says NOA Executive Vice President Cammie Dunaway.
As with other Wii Channel applications, the download will be available for free on the Wii Shop Channel, should one decide they want it.
Other features in the Japanese version upon release included streaming videos of content such as interviews with Wii game designers, such as Shigeru Miyamoto discussing the upcoming Wii Fit, and lists of upcoming games for Nintendo’s platforms that can be arranged by categories such as release date, genre, publisher, etc.
Another neat thing are special commercials and trailers such as this one, which simply compares the 2D world of New Super Mario Bros. to the 3D world of Super Mario Galaxy.
