New Wii Upgrade Allows Mii Movement, But De-Hacks Twilight Hack

So, Nintendo answered my prayers last night… well, one of them, anyway. With the implementation of their new version 3.3 Wii menu update, you can now move Miis from your Plaza into your Parade. They lose some data, like who made them, but at least now you don’t have to feel like some sort of murderer when you reach the 100-Mii cap and want to create Admiral Ackbar for a round of Wii Sports. Or if a friend happens to visit and wonder where his cool Hitler or Jesus Miis are.

It’s not all sunshine and Skittles, however, as the update also makes it clear to note “Because unauthorized modifications to save files may impair game play or the Wii Console, updating to Wii Menu version 3.3 will also check for and automatically remove such save files.”

Translation (courtesy of Joystiq): Know that hack for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess that allows for homebrew stuff? It is no more! Wish I’d known that before I updated, but I’m not even sure what I’d use it for, anyway.

But! It’s not all crabapples and cranberries for hackers, as sources are saying that if you had the “Homebrew Channel” installed before you updated, then there it should remain. It seems you simply can’t add it after the fact. Until Nintendo fixes that, too.
