In 2006, Guitar Hero II was co-published by Red Octane and Activision.
Then, Activision bought RedOctane and the Guitar Hero franchise that same year. And in 2007, Activision, the original third-party game company, began to merge with Vivendi Blizzard to form one of the biggest video game companies in the world.
