BioWare’s latest Sci-Fi RPG, Mass Effect, has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide in less than three weeks, according to Microsoft marketing VP Jeff Bell.
Speaking with GameDaily, Bell said that the game sold about three times as many copies as industrial analyst predicted.
Mass Effect was released on November 20 and is the first installment of a planned trilogy. Originally the trilogy was planned to be an Xbox 360 exclusive. However, with EA acquiring BioWare the situation has become a little more complicated.
According to GameDaily, Microsoft will be “talking to EA and BioWare in the weeks to come” about the future of the Mass Effect trilogy.
