If there ends up being an award for longest, most adjective filled titles, this PSN title has to win by default. I’m going to be calling the game SARPBC not only to shorten the name but to make it sound like a government experiment that gives you super powers. The game is something like a cross between remote control cars, Foozball and Air Hockey (most of the time). If you expect some sort of racing to the finish line, you won’t find any of that in SARPBC.
Most of the time, you’ll be playing a rather fun game of what I think it an overgrown Air Hockey table and you can have teams of RC cars battle for control using all kinds of crazy physics to push the ball in your favor. The single player experience is repetitive but that same repetitiveness isn’t an issue online. The mode is hold interest because the game dynamic is fluid and one team having an upper hand doesn’t normally last long. If there was anyone else on this earth that played the N64 game Buck Bumble, this multiplayer mode is nearly identical to that game’s multiplayer.
I’m on the fence about this game. On one hand, the key mode is fun and high octane jumps and twists are thrilling. On the other hand, the one-trick does grow old and more emphasis on the few other modes would have been welcomed.
