Fans have been waiting quite awhile for Nintendo to launch original titles onto the WiiWare section of the Wii Shop Channel, the big N’s answer to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade and Sony’s PlayStation Store. After teasing about it last year, fans have been waiting patiently for the “early 2008” timeframe that Nintendo expected the service to launch in.
The “early 2008” timeframe may have been narrowed down to the month of March however as Engine Software has just today announced their own WiiWare title, codenamed Project Bang! Along with the announcement Engine Software revealed the WiiWare service is set to debut in just about two and a half months from now.
Engine Software describes Project Bang! as “a casual game type with very addictive gameplay” for one or two players that will make good use of the Wii Remotes capabilities. For those of you not familiar with Engine Software’s previous works, they have had a hand in such titles as High School Musical: Livin’ the Dream on the GBA as well as assisting in the development of Nintendo DS version of Puzzle Quest.
