It was the morning of August the 2nd. The year was 1990. There were however, troubling times arising that could counter as a big problem. It wasn’t long before 300,000 Iraqi troops invaded Kuwait, a decision that would change the history books. This move would trigger the Gulf War sending everyone into total fear and chaos. There were so many souls that put efforts into aiding the war. Diplomatic efforts sadly failed. The opposition forces very determined prepared offensive operations which were codenamed ‘Desert Storm’.
The opposition forces did come through and defeat the Iraqi troops but it was no easy task to accomplish. It took well thought out planning and training to get ready for attack. The task was accomplished and the conflict was slowly settled thanks to Desert Storm.
Now that real life war experience from 1990 is coming back in a new way. Coming this September, Pivotal Games presents Conflict Desert Storm as you relive the Gulf War right on your Xbox. Take control as the role of the elite British SAS or the US Delta Force squads. These are quite possibly the most well trained, designed, best forces in the world. Conflict: Desert Storm gives you one main goal which is to seek your enemy and destroy is by all means. That includes targets, personnel and any other threat to you. You must succeed by all ways possible. Making a mess and creating havoc is an option to demolish your enemy. With the most powerful squads it is possible, just bring your skill.
Since the game bases itself on the Gulf war you’ll find yourself in a war environment with intense war scenes. You’ll need to bring your best to the show with tactical stealth missions that require skill and firepower to get through. Conflict: Desert Storm offers highly lucrative and dangerous missions that will have you either attacking or defending yourself and your fellow soldiers. This tactical warfare game will take you all over the mid-east from Baghdad to Al Khafji on many intense missions.
Conflict: Desert Storm Features:

The game will come packed with the most complete weaponry arsenal a war game could ask for. There are nine different sets of weaponry available in Conflict: Desert Storm. All of them will come of use at some point during your quest in the East.
Pistol – The most compact and easy-come firing weapon. It’s easy to carry, use, and is very effective in the battlefield. The game will feature four different pistols.
Combat Shotgun – The shotgun is a deadly and powerful weapon that packs a punch. The reloading time on this weapon can force a few moments of waiting but is overall worth carrying. The shotgun can be used in pump-action or semi-automatic mode and is excellent for close range combat.
Assault Rifle – The assault rifle is a weapon which has both positive and negative features. The M16A2 (Standard NATO assault rifle) comes readily equipped with an M203 single-shot 40mm grenade launcher which is excellent for messy situations. The Kalashnikov AK-74 is an updated version of the AK-47 but has a visible fearsome and effective blast that can get anyone noticed. Both guns are featured in the game.
Sniper Rifle – One of the most effective long distance weapons ever, it clearly gets the job done at a long range. One of the impressive sniper rifles in the game is the Barrett ‘Light Fifty’ M82A1 which is one of the few ‘heavy’ sniper rifles. The M82A1 uses a large .50 caliber round that has an effective range of 1500 meters.
Sub Machine Gun – The game includes 4 sub machine guns that come fully loaded and some silenced for an effective quick shot. The Colt Commando is one of the best sub machine gun; it comes with a silencer and a scope which is deadly from a fixed distance.
Light Machine Gun – The light machine gun is a more lightweight version of a machine gun but it’s just as powerful. All four of the light machine guns featured in the game are single shots and are fully automatic.
Explosives – The best way to clear a tank out of your way or an enemy force is to use an explosive. You’ll find an anti-tank mine, M67 fragmentation grenade, smoke grenade, and a C4 explosive charge ready for use when you come into a sticky situation.
Anti-Tank Rocket Launchers – Another effective way to get rid of an enemy pursuing tank if your at a distance. Using the LAW 66, LAW 80, and 40-mm RPG-7 will help you if you happen to have one in handy. All of the following rocket launchers are one shot disposables.
Surface To Air Missiles – One of the most feared typed of weapon of a helicopter. The only two air missiles featured in the game is the FIM-92 Stinger and the SA-7 Grail 7. Both are missile guided and are one shot disposables.
Weaponry is certainly not a problem you going to come to face in Conflict: Desert Storm. You’re getting a wide range and great selection of weapons that can do the deadliest of damage in combat. Be prepared for war.
When you’re in war and the fighting is intense or if you need to escape and your feet won’t take you far, vehicles are there for you. Conflict: Desert Storm features five different types of vehicles for your enjoyment.
Light Vehicles – These quick and agile vehicles are good for getting around quickly. Not all of them are equipped with weapons, some are for transporting so it’s best to be careful and watch your surroundings.
Main Battle Tanks – It’s never a pleasure to stand in a tanks way. Their firepower is extremely deadly and can make buildings topple with a few blows.
Battlefield Missiles – This weapon shoots with a purpose. It can cause mass destruction and deaths. Stay clear of its paths. You’ll find three available in the game; MLRS (Multiple-launch rocket system), SS-1 ‘Scud’, and the AGM-86 ALCM (Air Launched Cruise Missile).
Armored Personal Carriers (APC) – These tanks have more than one purpose. While taking care of the shooting business, it’s also a transport to carry soldiers to their destination.
Anti-Aircraft Vehicles – These vehicles are very fond of what’s up in the sky. Fully loaded with cannons and homing surface to air missiles, these vehicles can take out a helicopter with ease.
If you’re not a fan of the ground work and like the moving life, using some of these vehicles will have you in control of the war in no time. Just make sure you aren’t surrounded by the enemy with no help.
Not successful attacking from the ground? No sweat! Take control of the air and give the enemy a reason to hide in their beds under the covers. Conflict: Desert Storm delivers a fully complete air arsenal ready for use.
Attack Helicopters – It’s not for transportation or film capturing, it’s more for attacking the enemy at a fast pace. These helicopters are equipped with anti-tank missiles, chain guns, cannons, and rocket pods.
Strike Fighters – Taking it to the enemy in a jet will never be the same with the MiG29 ‘Fulcrum’ and the F15 ‘Eagle’. Both Jets can reach incredible speeds and are fully equipped with missiles.
Transport Helicopters – If you’re having no luck transporting soldiers from the ground then try the air for success. The CH-47 Chinook and UH60 Blackhawk are the two transport helicopters available in the game.
Ground Attack Aircraft – Give a reason for the enemy to hide. These aircraft have laser guided missiles, cannons, and air-to-air missiles that can literally turn the ground below to rubble.
Bombers – The F117a ‘Nighthawk’ is the only bomber you’ll find available. At quick speeds, it can send deadly weaponry to the ground leaving mass destruction.
Conflict: Desert Storm isn’t lacking or leaving any aircraft out. There making your experience as real as possible. Your air attacks are never going to be the same again. Make sure your air sickness bag is handy at all times.
This September you have the experience to relive the Gulf war in a totally new way ever thought. Right on you’re Xbox. This is as good as a war action as your going to get on the Xbox. What’s disappointing that the game won’t be Xbox Live enabled. The possibilities and thought of having Conflict: Desert Storm online would amaze many gamers at the fact of a war game online on the Xbox. Online or not, it’s going to face some tough competition when Unreal Championship arrives onto the scene early this fall. Nevertheless, this game is looking very impressive with less than a month to go before it’s released. Make sure when this titles hits the shelves that you give it a good look, because history is waiting to be made.
