The embargo on Capcom’s press event a couple days ago lifted this morning and we’re happy to share with you the announcement of Bionic Games’ exclusive Wii title: Spyborgs. At least we hope we’re happy. Described by Capcom as resembling a Saturday morning cartoon, Spyborgs is an action game that puts players in control of “five bionic superspies in a fight to save the world from a group of dastardly villains.”
The game will put heavy emphasis on teamwork with 2 player co-op (wifi isn’t mentioned)and the ability to switch between the five characters, prodding players to use each characters’ strengths in different situations.
Spyborgs is the first game from Bionic Games. Bionic Games is made up of former High Voltage and Insomniac Entertainment, who brought you such little known games as Resistance: Fall of Man and Ratchet & Clank.
Stick around for a teaser trailer and screenshots, and expect the game to drop in 2009. Personally, I’m optimistic because Bionic Games sounds solid, and Capcom is one of the few third parties that has “gotten” the Wii.
