Blitz: The League to Skip Wii Launch

While the Wii version of Madden NFL Football is sure to please the majority of the pigskin loving crowd, it’s always a bit refreshing to experience things from a different perspective – and the Blitz series has always done just that: offer rather violent gameplay with a true football system deeply intact. For those looking forward to the Wii version however, it now appears that the title will not appear anytime during the Wii’s launch window.

Midway today confirmed to IGN that while the title will not make the launch window, it is still in production for the system. Midway representatives had the following to say:

“Midway can confirm that Blitz: The League will not be available as a Nintendo Wii launch title, but still plans to bring its top-selling franchise to the system in the future.”

Midway’s game designer Kraig Kujawa has went on record saying that the game’s design would be a combination of both old and new control, and that the company is still getting used to control with the new controller, which could be a possible reason for the delay.

We’ll keep a close eye on this, so make sure you stay tuned to AMN for further developments.
