Coming off one of its most sucessful years in its history, Activision is ready to impress the crowd again with another star-studded lineup this year at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Activision plans to start the show with its extreme sports lineup, which includes its ever-popular “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4â„¢”, “Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX 2â„¢”, and others, which are headed by popular names of each respective sport. Kelly Slater and Sean Murray are just two of the other headliners for Activision’s “O2” Extreme Sports lineup.
“Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4â„¢” is the next installment in the popular Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, and plans to bulid on the successful formulas of the old games with new levels and goals. The game is currently scheduled for release on Xboxâ„¢, as well as Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance, and Playstation 2.
Activision also hopes to showcase its super-hero game lineup, which now includes Spiderman: The Movieâ„¢, Blade 2â„¢, X-Men: Next Dimensionâ„¢, and X-Men: Wolverine’s Revengeâ„¢. All are currently slated for release on the Xbox video game console.
As of now, Activision is the #2 independent U.S. game publisher and one of two U.S. publishers with worldwide revenues in excess of $500 million. The company recently posted revenues of $786 million for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2002. The incline in profits have also allowed Activision to snag numerous high-profile licenses, including the license for the upcoming Tom Cruise movie, Minority Reportâ„¢.
