A New Tecmo Bowl on the Wii in 2009!?

Those were the good old days… my buds and I come home from school, tell mom we were going to a friend’s house and plop down on said friend’s couch. What were we playing? What else!? Tecmo (Super) Bowl, fools. That’s right, I had my friends pop a squat while Bo Jackson and I taught them a thing or two about how to contain a running game, or not contain it for that matter. What do ya know, Bo? Schoolin’ kids on the virtual playing field, only those that tasted my pain knew exactly how many hours I spent raining victorious doom upon their heads.

Well, for those looking to relive their glory days with one of the greatest football games of all time need to look no further. During an event for Tecmo’s upcoming Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff for the DS, the publisher announced that fans can expect a new Tecmo Bowl for the Wii in 2009. No other hard details were revealed concerning the title, yet I remain psyched.

Bo Jackson was probably the most awesome(awesomely broken) football player to ever grace early consoles. Do you doubt me?

I’d also like to point out that I revisited Tecmo Bowl with a roommate and was absolutely destroyed. In my defense, he called dibs on Miracle Bo before I even had a chance.
