Those who have competed in the WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 international online tournament may have taunted their opponents with John Cena’s catchphrase “can’t see me,” but tonight in Orlando, that’s all about to change as the four finalists get to compete head-to-head to see who walks away as the champ with two floor seats to WrestleMania XXIV.
In addition, the House of Blues stage will be rocked by the 6th Annual THQ Superstar Challenge, featuring WWE Superstars from their Raw, Smackdown, and ECW brands facing off in a WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 tournament. “The 6th Annual THQ Superstar Challenge is our way of thanking WWE and its Superstars for their commitment to delivering the definitive sports entertainment videogame experience,” said Bob Aniello, senior vice president, worldwide marketing, THQ. “The WWE Superstars play a large role in the making of the WWE videogames, and with the tremendous success of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008, our largest cross-platform launch to date with over five million units shipped in our first three months at retail, we are delighted to see everyone come together to enjoy the finished product.”
Last year’s winner, ECW’s Elijah Burke, will be in attendance to defend his champion status starting with CM Punk and on up through the tournament. After which, Grammy-nominated and multiplatinum-selling recording artist P.O.D. (whose song, “Booyaka 619,” serves as Rey Mysterio’s theme song) will rock the House of Blues stage, prepping the audience for the April 8th release of their new album, When Angels & Serpents Dance.
