It’s been 30 years since Yars’ Revenge, one of the first arcade shooters ever, was released for the Atari 2600. Atari announced this week that the game will be returning next year for Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC.
“Yars’ Revenge brings the legendary title to new artistic heights with an anime inspired art style and captivating narrative that expands upon the original story,” Atari said in a press release. “The game also features local co-op gameplay, multiple endings, intense battles, and visually striking landscapes designed to appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers.”
I’ll be honest, I was way more excited when I thought this was “Yaris Revenge”…
