Grab your party hats, eat some cake, and blow out some candles because Xbox Live has officially turned 9 years old.
As of yesterday, Xbox Live, which debuted in 2002 on the original Xbox, officially celebrated its ninth birthday. The online gaming service has shaped the way gamers both interact and spend time with games, other players, and more.
The oldest Gamertag on the service is “e” and it belongs to Microsoft’s Operation Manager for Xbox Live, Eric Neustradter.
The Xbox Live service wasn’t available to the general public on August 14th 2002, however, Neustradter officially joined the service on that date. Today, August 15th, marks the date that Live was officially available to the public.
Here’s to many more years of online gaming Xbox Live!
