Xbox One YouTube app to be available at launch

Following yesterday's news that a Twitch app will not be available on Xbox One until 2014, Microsoft announced that their next-gen system will at least have a YouTube app in time for Friday's launch.

Both Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb and Xbox Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer Yusuf Mehdi confirmed the news via Twitter, with the former tweeting: "Xbox One will have a dedicated @YouTube video app on day 1." Neither mentioned if the app would be open to everyone or just Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers.

The YouTube app should allow for easy browsing of YouTube videos directly through the Xbox One. It can be assumed it will recognize Kinect voice commands and work with the Xbox One's Snap feature.
