The original Scribblenauts was one of my most anticipated games for the Nintendo DS back in 2009. After playing the game, I was left completely satisfied, and I eagerly anticipated the sequel, Super Scribblenauts. Unfortunately, that title didn’t really give me the level of enjoyment that its predecessor did. As a result of that, I didn’t know how I would feel about a third entry.
Regardless of my personal feelings, though, it seems that a new iteration of Scribblenauts is due to hit the gaming scene. As indicated by DomainTools, the title “Scribblenauts Remix” has been registered. I have no clue what this could mean, but I have to admit that I’m somewhat intrigued.
Aside from the domain registry, absolutely nothing is known about the future of the Scribblenauts franchise. The word “remix” brings up a lot of possibilities, though. Could this be a remake of the last game (hopefully fixing its many issues)? Could it be a collection of puzzles from both games? Is it a downloadable title for consoles and PC? Is it an upcoming entry for the 3DS or Vita?
Your guesses are as good as mine. Here’s hoping we learn more about Scribblenauts Remix sometime in the near future. Personally, I’m hoping for a gameplay experience that offers the open-ended nature of the first game with the massive dictionary of the second. We’ll have to wait and see.
