Watch the first 10 Minutes of ambitious Fallout 4: New Vegas total conversion mod

Play the predecessor inside the sequel

To call Fallout 4: New Vegas a mere mod would be selling the lofty goals of the total conversion modding team drastically short. Indeed, F4:NV aims to deliver the entirety of Fallout: New Vegas inside the series’ newest outing Fallout 4. But the large modding team has even larger ambitions and wants to enhance the pure New Vegas experience by adding new locations and mechanics, all the while staying true to the original.

F4:NV was first announced in 2017 and the passionate modders have been hard at work creating new and updated assets, while also laying the technical groundwork to port New Vegas into Fallout 4. It looks like a new milestone for the project has been reached and today we receive a brand-new video showing the start of F4:NV. The 10-minute-long video is taking place solely in a single room but the amount of polish and attention to detail is highly promising.

It might seem not that impressive to spend that much time showing off the tutorial to F4:NV but once you notice the great work present here, the appreciation for the mod should surge. From animation to soundwork, models to textures, what is shown here has that special New Vegas atmosphere.

The lengthy development period is a right pain for eager fans but such is the deal for most mods. Especially comprehensive total conversions. To ease the pain, you should check out the project’s previous videos and follow the official Facebook account. This comparison video between locations of F4:NV and the original Fallout: New Vegas is especially eye-opening.

All this impressive work doesn’t come easy as a large core team of around a dozen talented modders are behind F4:NV, with easily double that contributing towards the project. As with any mod, it’s almost impossible to gauge a possible release window but today’s new video is making us hopeful that the wait won’t be too long.
