Watch Fear The Walking Dead’s intense opening scene

AMC teases part of Fear The Walking Dead's opening scene

With AMC's Fear The Walking Dead debuting this Sunday, the network decided to tease us a bit by releasing a brief clip of the opening sequence from the premiere episode.

The clip features Nick Clark (Frank Dillane), a college-flunk out who is battling a drug problem, as he awakes in what looks like some sort of church or rehab station. If you recall AMC's promo from back in June, it showed Nick running in sheer panic. This clip shows you why.

Based on this clip and the San Diego Comic-Con trailer, it looks like Fear The Walking Dead will have a much different tone than Robert Kirkman's original comic series The Walking Dead, which sparked AMC's first show of the same name. Of course, The Walking Dead went on to become a roaring success for the network, leading to this spinoff which shows the initial stages of the outbreak. While we are quite familiar with what's happening in Los Angeles, the characters in the show have no idea what's going on. And because of that, Fear the Walking Dead will focus on a much different question:

"What did the world look like as it was transforming into the horrifying apocalypse depicted in The Walking Dead? This summer, AMC will answer that question with Fear The Walking Dead, an all-new original series set in Los Angeles, following new characters as they face the beginning of the end of the world."

Fear The Walking Dead looks like a much more intense watch, but I just hope AMC doesn't focus too much on the outbreak and lose sight of what The Walking Dead is really about — human nature.
