Watch Dogs 2: Ubisoft launches ‘Selfie Reveal’ to expose the realities of your selfies

Gandalf got a 50% on his beard. Wow.

You think selfie-ing is a game? Guess again. Ubisoft has launched "Selfie Reveal," a program that takes your selfie, analyzes it and tells you everything it exposes about you.

Watch Dogs 2 is all about hacking technology and internet culture. At the core of internet culture is selfies. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Tinder and all forms of social apps basically revolve around selfies, they are a cultural movement at this point (that's why the selfie stick even exists), but Ubisoft wants to expose the realities of what selfies give away and how they could be used.

“All that is required for inclusion in a facial recognition database is a selfie,” said David Maynor, Creative Consultant on hacker tools, techniques, and culture for Watch_Dogs 2. “Selfies could be thought of as taking your own mug shot in this regard. These pictures can be mined for behavior and lifestyle indicators over time. As a hypothetical example, can you imagine getting an email from your healthcare provider where they noticed you have gained weight by comparing a series of selfies over the last year and as a result your premiums are going up?”

Sure, that's a bit of an extrapolation, but hey, it could happen.

I took the Selfie Reveal and ran a couple people through it, myself included. You can see Gandalf above and the rest below. You can try it out for yourself via the link above.
