Beyond Light, Destiny 2’s newest expansion is almost here. And to set up the stage for this massive new experience, developer Bungie has released a story trailer for it. Check it out here!
A little more than three years have passed since Bungie unleashed Destiny 2 to the masses. Despite its age, the live service shooter still goes strong, and arguably the biggest factor for this success are large expansions.
The newest one is less than a month away and now we finally learn more about its story. Set on the ice-covered moon Europa, Beyond Light has more than just a freezing setting. The ice is not just cold, it’s darkness in more than just one way.
One highlight addition to the new expansion is the dark power Stasis. Befitting of the cold’s feature to freeze anything in place, this new elemental power allows for new and exciting ways for players to play as.
A wide assortment of all types of new weapons is of course here as well. So, whether you enjoy long-range sniping or close quarters battles, there’s something new for you to look forward to.
Apart from being a new expansion, Beyond Light marks another important milestone for Destiny 2. Its launch on November 10th also is the start for the next-gen of consoles with the Xbox Series X|S.
It bears mentioning though that the actual next-gen update for Destiny 2 is slated for December 8th. Meaning, players on next-gen consoles will have to wait one month before playing the next-gen optimized versions of Beyond Light and Destiny 2.
Bungie already confirmed 4K resolutions at 60fps on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. And while the Series S also supports 60fps, the resolution is paired back to 1080p. Even lower than the 1440p Microsoft advertised it as. But framerate is king, so we’re not complaining.
