The game will have multiplayer.

Beyond Good and Evil 2, after long being rumored, was finally made official at this past E3 with a concept trailer. Unfortunately, the team at Ubisoft Montpellier isn't even close to finished, in fact, they haven't yet really started on development. However, in a recent livestream that aired earlier today, Creative Director Michel Ancel, Senior Producer Guillaume Brunier and Narrative Director Gabrielle Shrager sat down to reveal some concept art (embedded below) and to talk about where everything stands.

If you're interested in checking out that hour-long livestream, you can do so by heading over here. Otherwise, you can watch the much more manageable developer video below, which is only five minutes long.

With pre-production on the game happening on and off over the last few years, the Ubisoft Montpellier crew is turning to the fans for help and inspiration through what they are calling the Space Monkey program. The program allows fans to take part in the creative process as Creative Director Michel Ancel says the goal is to "blur the lines between the developers and passionate people."

In other words, fan feedback will be a big part of Beyond Good and Evil 2's development.

As far as the actual game goes, concrete details are sparse at this time, though it was revealed that Beyond Good and Evil 2 would feature multiplayer. Senior Producer Guillaume Brunier said "a part of the story will be the story you tell as you meet and play with friends," though Ancel also confirmed that the game could be played entirely in single player.

Strap in Beyond Good and Evil fans, it's going to be a long wait.
