Valve is Working to Make Portal 2 on PS3 “the Valve Experience”

Project manager at Valve, Erik Johnson spoke at Gamescom about their PlayStation 3 development. The PS3 version of the Orange Box is said to be inferior to the Xbox 360 version by a longshot. However, Valve is hoping to show PS3 owners some love this time around with Portal 2.

“PS3 is incredibly important to us. We don’t feel that the PS3 users had the Valve experience that we like to deliver,” said Johnson, “we kind of fix everything wrong in the products that we delivered before for the PS3, which we thought were good but weren’t quite the Valve experience.”

He also noted that Valve has a “handful of people [with] a very strong PS3 background.” Valve’s PS3 developers have now had the chance to get the Source engine running on the system for Portal 2.
