Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection story trailer hits us right in the feels

Emotions!

In just a few months, PlayStation 4 owners will get to relive the adventure of Nathan Drake with the release of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, a compilation of Naughty Dog's three acclaimed titles in the franchise: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

With Uncharted 4 coming in 2016, The Nathan Drake Collection allows you to experience some of Drake's most memorable moments. A new Story Trailer not only reminds us of some of those moments, but gives us a look at the game fully captured on PlayStation 4.

This is the first time that we get to see how the remastered Drake will look, and let me be the first to say Bluepoint Games did an excellent job. From the very beginning you can see a smooth 60 fps and the textures and details to characters look super crisp. And with the new photo mode, I'm sure you'll be able to get some great shots. Other improvements to lighting, rendering, texture mapping, and dynamic audio mean all three games are looking and sounding better than ever.

In addition to updated visuals, Sony has added new Trophies and new modes that will event invite long time adventurers to replay the classics.

  • Explorer Mode is an all-new mode for beginners where combat difficulty is reduced greatly.
  • Speed Run Mode adds a timer that allows players to track their gameplay time against their friends as they play sections of the game.
  • Brutal Difficulty Mode is the ultimate challenge as the gameplay will be more punishing than Crushing Difficulty (unlocked after beating Crushing Difficulty in the same game).

In addition, players will have over 65 skins to choose from including the fan favourite, Doughnut Drake. Unfortunately, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is limited to just the singleplayer campaigns for each of the three games, but it does provide access to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is set to release for PlayStation 4 on October 9th.
