Uncharted 4 open multiplayer beta officially announced, requires no PS Plus

Start playing this Friday

Yesterday, the European PlayStation Store accidentally revealed that Sony and Naughty Dog were planning an open beta this weekend for the last installment in the Uncharted series, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, but up until now we did not have the official word.

Thanks to the PlayStation Blog, we now do. The point of this beta is to host a Multiplayer Stress Test this weekend where the goal is to get as many people as possible playing in the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer mode to test our networking, our matchmaking, and more says  Lead Game Designer, Robert Cogburn.

Since this is a Stress Test, Naughty Dog also announced that there will be no need for a PS Plus subscription, all you need to do is download the beta which will hit stores later today, and jump into the servers starting this Friday at 9:00 AM Pacific; the beta ends on March 6th at 11:59 PM Pacific.

We went hands on with the closed Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta back in December, to get a better understanding and our first impressions on it, click here.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is set to release exclusively for PS4 on April 26th.
