Today’s top 10 tweets from the gaming industry – 4/23/13

What did you miss about video games today? What were some of the gaming industry's most popular people tweeting about? I'll give you 10 tweets I found awesome, informative, weird, funny, stupid, or whatever, and then I'll give some commentary on it.

Today, some of our tweets are going to explore the Twitter madness over being able to order Pizza Hut from your Xbox 360. Also, all the way from July 2011, we had a video of Master Chief making pizza. Coincidence?

I understand that everything is "Better with Kinect," but I doubt they can make the diarrhea from the meatlovers pizza "better." It would be better to not eat Pizza Hut. I can't get that scene from Van Wilder out of my head where the DIK boyfriend explodes into a tiny trash bin. That's going to be every gamer that uses this app.

Take that, politicians! Proof that video games are medicinal.

I wasn't among those that hated Thor. I thought the movie was decent and did an okay job of setting up Thor for more adventures, but the whole Natalie Portman love story tried too hard. There was no chemistry and it was forced. She was only there to make Thor care about Earth and humanity; a puppy could've accomplished the same thing. Thor: The Dark World is off to a good start with an excellent first trailer. Portman is back, but the story around her and Thor looks pretty good. Can't wait to see more.

Wow, that seriously does look like an ad for BioShock Infinite. I wouldn't mind all advertising using this style, ya know, as long as they don't get all creepy religious and racist.

I looked it up, and this is an actual game that you can download for Android devices. You play as a penis in a Hawaiian shirt that battles va-jay-jays. I'm being 100% serious. I'm all for creative freedom, but this just sounds like a bad South Park episode. Or a great one… I'm going to go download it now… for science.

Dishonored is still in my backlog of games to get to, but I've heard nothing but good things about the DLC, which has now been backed by our own Andrew Clouthier.

This needs to happen. It would be amazing. Think Don Draper in a space shuttle. #bestimageever

Tweet of the Day

Today's tweet of the day goes to @samred and @rockpapershot. SimCity was and continues to be a mess. Though Maxis has been working hard to get the game to where it's at now, I refuse to play it again. I tried for the first week, but see no redeeming qualities in the game. I've uninstalled it and will probably never re-install it. As a journalist, I haven't ignored SimCity because they went silent in hope that all their problems would disappear. I have to report information to readers. But I neither accept or believe anything from Maxis at this point.

The article is a great read and you should definitely check it out.

Make sure you follow everyone mentioned in this column on Twitter, because they're funny, offer insight into the gaming industry, and are generally just really cool people. Also, if you've got a good tweet that has been re-tweeted by someone in the gaming industry, submit it to me via email and I'll post the good ones. Thanks for reading!
