Guillermo del Toro recently confirmed to MTV that he is working on a deal with publisher THQ to release a a game he could only describe as a “Lovecraftian” horror game.
“With THQ we’re looking at around a three year developing deadline for each game,” del Toro stated. “Big games. More details forthcoming, but we are truly exploring them in a serious manner. Expect the first game, best case scenario, 2013.”
GamePro Online reached out to THQ regarding the unannounced (yet confirmed) project and received the following statement:
“At THQ, we are focused on the highest level of creative development by putting artists first. Guillermo is one of many creative artists that we respect and would be interested in working with. However, at this time, we do not have any formal announcement to make.”
Thanks, THQ, that was pretty convincing.
