Take a ride in Days Gone’s wilderness & Special Editions revealed

Lots of environmental diversity

Sony just released a sweet new trailer for their upcoming open-world zombie game Days Gone. In the first of the World Series videos we get a broader look at the varied world of the game. Sony also unveiled two Special Editions which include digital & physical goodies.

It’s almost three years ago when Sony unveiled Days Gone and Bend Studio has been hard at work to realize their vision of a detailed and gorgeous open-world while also being able to feature hundreds of zombies on screen at once. On its own, Days Gone is an ambitious project but Bend Studio it also means the first step onto home consoles in over a decade. They want to prove they can go head to head with other big games, and we’re expecting this drive to show in the game.

Today’s new video is focusing on the world of Days Gone and how varied it is. Indeed, the setting of Oregon might have led some to believe monotone environments but what we’re seeing in the trailer is anything but. From dense pine forests to snow-cove red mountains, diverse vistas are aplenty here. There are even desert-like spots where ancient volcanoes created rocky and dry patches.

Sony also unveiled two Special Editions. There’s the Digital Deluxe Edition which includes a digital mini art book, digital soundtrack, three bike skins, an early skill unlock and a theme. The Collector’s Edition packs all goodies from the Digital Deluxe plus a Collector’s Edition Statue, patches, pins, decals, a steel book, physical soundtrack and mini art book.

As usual, early birds also get some pre-order incentives which come in form of in-game weapons, upgrade and cosmetic parts. If you pre-order from the PlayStation Store, you’ll also receive a Days Gone Sawmill Dynamic Theme .

Days Gone is launching April 26 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
