The Syberia series never got a proper ending because of the decline of the adventure genre. But thanks to games like Telltale's The Walking Dead, King Art's The Book of Unwritten Tales, and Double Fine's Double Fine Adventure on Kickstarter, we'll be seeing a lot more of them.
Developer Microïds and French publisher Anuman Interactive have announced a third entry for 2014 or 2015. Benoit Sokal, who wrote the earlier games and is also the "artistic director," will pen the script while Elliot Grassiano leads the project.
The Syberia games follow lawyer Kate Walker. Syberia 2 (pictured) left the story on a cliffhanger, but the games were well received — just not hot enough to rise above the failing genre.
Anuman Interactive plans to release Syberia 3 on multiple platforms. Right now you can pick up the first two games on Steam for less than $4 as part of the Autumn Sale, but only a few hours remain, so act fast.
