Survival-Sandbox Unturned is now out on PlayStation and Xbox

Special console features included

Console gamers can now enjoy one of the best multiplayer zombie games from the PC right from the comfort of their couches. Unturned is now available on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Thanks to backward compatibility, the game also works on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Enjoy the console launch trailer here!

Unturned already is a huge hit on the PC. Not the least thanks to being a Free-to-Play game and available on Steam. The console port released now offers some choice upgrades over the PC version, and is thus a great way to change platforms.

On Steam, Unturned is a self-published indie title from developer Smartly Dressed Games. But for the jump to consoles, the studio partnered up with 505 Games.

This partnership allowed the inclusion of split-screen multiplayer. A really awesome addition to the overall package. Especially now that the game is available on consoles where it’ll be likely played in living rooms where local multiplayer is simply just much easier than on the PC.

Another highlight feature of the console version is dedicated server hosting. As an online game, this addition is a huge plus point for Unturned on consoles. Now, with a single press of a button, players can create their own private servers.

Anyone who plays online knows how inconsistent the player experience with total strangers can be. Trolls, griefers, and hackers can truly create an awful time. Since Unturned is a survival game where progress actually means a lot, we foresee many safe and enjoyable private sessions to take place.

All these nice upgrades come at a cost though. Literally. Unturned on consoles is no longer F2P and instead costs $24.99. It’s a small asking price for an awesome game that’s proven on PC and offers substantial upgrades.
