Super Meat Boy Forever launches on PC & Switch this December

PlayStation and Xbox versions come in early 2021

Team Meat has revealed that Super Meat Boy Forever launches this month already. The sequel to one of the most popular indie games of the past decade releases December 23rd for the Nintendo Switch and PC. Check out the release date trailer below!

Over a decade ago, indie game creators Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen released one of the biggest indie games to date with Super Meat Boy. The cartoonish platformer went on to become an instant classic thanks to its brutally punishing design and humor.

As such, it’s sort of incredible that it took studio Team Meat an entire decade to create a sequel. Three years after its announcement, the wait is soon over. Furthermore, Super Meat Boy Forever is much more than just a sequel.

Super Meat Boy Forever is the sequel to Super Meat Boy! This is a new experience that eclipses the original. Don’t stare directly at it unless you still have your eclipse glasses.

Featuring a whopping 7,200 levels, Meat Boy’s new adventure is his biggest yet. On top of that, handcrafted parts are cleverly combined with dynamic map generation to always keep the player on its toes. This roguelike element gives SMB Forever a new layer of depth and replay value.

But the biggest difference to the original is that Super Meat Boy Forever is essentially an ‘endless runner’. Best known from the mobile space, this decision means that the action is always ramped up to the max.

Super Meat Boy Forever will launch for the Nintendo Switch and PC on December 23rd. On PC, the game is a timed-exclusive on the Epic Games Store before it comes to Steam sometime in 2021.

PlayStation and Xbox users also have to wait until 2021 to play the game on the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
