Steam requires Curators to disclose paid recommendations

Are you worried about developers or publishers offering money to big names/popular people in the video game industry to post game recommendations through Steam's Curator feature?

You don't have to worry any more (if you actually read the recommendations).

Steam has updated their Curator's F.A.Q page to say that if you've accepted money for a game recommendation, you've got to make it known in the game recommendation itself! In addition to that update, it was revealed by Gunpoint developer Tom Francis that Steam has given developers the ability to 'curate which Curators appear' on a game's Steam Store page.

So, make sure you're reading the recommendations instead of just looking at the name of the person recommending it.
