Sound Shapes turns one, so here’s some free sh*t

This week, Sony is celebrating the birthday of Sound Shapes, the musical-based platformer which turns one year old. And in doing so, they are giving away free sh*t, holding a birthday sale, and hosting a creator contest.

First off, if you don't have Sound Shapes — get it. For the next week, the game and all of its DLC will be 50% off.  Better yet, it's also a Cross Buy game which means when you buy it for either the PS3 or Vita you'll get the game for both platforms automatically.

Admittedly, I hadn't played Sound Shapes until I recently reviewed the Best of PlayStation Network Volume 1. It easily became my most beloved game in the collection.

Additionally, taking advantage of the build-in game editor, which allows you to design your own levels, Sony is holding a little competition in which you must "create and upload a level highlighting what you love about Sound Shapes." The top six creators will receive a signed, screen printed Sound Shapes poster and will be included in a special 1 Year Anniversary Milkcrate album. The Milkcrate is a collection of the best Community levels curated around a particular theme or by guest curators.

Lastly, the team is treating all players to a free gift. Head over to PlayStation Community thread and post your thoughts or birthday wishes to get the Car Mini-Album & Entity Pack for free.

"Thanks to everyone who supported us this past year – it means a lot," the Sound Shapes team concluded. "Keep playing, keep creating, and stay tuned, we have many more announcements coming soon."
