INKS DEAL WITH UEP SYSTEMS TO DEVELOP
SHAUN
PALMER’S PRO SNOWBOARDER
FOR THE
PLAYSTATION®2 COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM

 

Santa
Monica, CA – April 2, 2001 – Continuing to build on its successful action
sports line, Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today it has signed UEP
Systems, the team that pioneered the top-selling Cool Boarders franchise, to
develop Shaun Palmer’s Pro Snowboarder(tm) for the PlayStation®2 computer
entertainment system. The title, which features six-time X-Games Gold Medalist
Shaun Palmer and a number of other top pros, is expected to be available this
fall.

combining top studio and athletic talent, it is our intent to create the
definitive snowboarding game for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment
system," said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision
Worldwide Studios. "The experience UEP Systems brings to the genre is
unmatched and will certainly lend itself well to developing the most
exhilarating and realistic snowboarding game to date."

 

In
addition to winning six X-Game Gold Medals, Shaun Palmer is a five-time winner
of the International Snowboarding Federation’s World Boardercross and has been
hailed by USA Today as the "acknowledged master of the sport."
Palmer has become the quintessential extreme sports athlete, winning
competitions in snowboarding, extreme skiing, mountain bike racing, and
motocross.
