SDCC 2016: New Overwatch character will be revealed at Comic Con

They may have missed E3, but Comic Con is right around the corner!

A new event listing suggests the rumored Overwatch character will be announced at this years San Diego Comic Con.

Thanks to a cryptic tweet earlier this week, there were some rumors circulating that Blizzard would be announcing a new character for the online first-person shooter, Overwatch. Since it release earlier this year, the game has been one of the most well-received, highest selling games of the summer. With the ever increasing fan base and popularity, players are clamoring for more.

Now, it seems that the tweet was more than just heresay. A new posting for the upcoming events scheduled for this year's San Diego Comic Con International suggests that Blizzard Entertainment will be hosting a panel where they plan to make the big reveal. The listing reads as Behind the Scenes of Overwatch's Newest Hero. The official description details the members of the Blizzard team slated to appear:

Blizzard developers James Waugh (director of story & creative development), Michael Chu (senior designer, Overwatch), and Arnold Tsang (assistant art director, Overwatch) present a behind-the-scenes look into the creative process of developing the art, design, and story for Overwatch's newest hero.

There's no word on any details just yet (with the exception of what was suggested on Twitter), but the panel is scheduled for July 21st, so more details will likely be made available that weekend.

If that weren't enough, attendees of the convention will be able to purchase a Comic Con Exclusive art print by Overwatch Art Director, Arnold Tsang, entitled The Cavalry's Here ($65).

Whether you're a scientist, a soldier, an adventurer, or an oddity, you'll love this high gloss Overwatch photo print. Each numbered copy of this limited edition print comes with a certificate of authenticity—and each print is signed by Arnold Tsang, the Overwatch Art Director.

The print is limited edition, which means they're likely to sell out fast. If you find yourself at Comic Con, get there early and secure your copy!
