S2 doubles their workforce in response to Heroes of Newerth’s growth

In 2012, S2 Games was forced to more than double their staff due to the thriving success of the MOBA Heroes of Newerth. The company’s progress has lead them to open a mobile gaming "iGames Division."  Also due to all this, S2 moved relocated their headquarters to a cooperate suite in Portage Trade Center just outside of Kalamazoo. This new HQ holds the company’s 90 employees, 18,000 square foot space, and a 55 seat enrichment classroom.

Marc DeFrost, CEO of S2 Games, had this to say about their success:

“Our Heroes of Newerth player base grew by about 50 percent in 2012 and we have high expectations with the launch of HoN 3.0 in 2013. We're constantly seeking ways to improve our games and the services we offer to the player base, and that's why we're investing in a top-notch workforce and a great space to do the work … Our employees are our biggest strength. A productive, educated, and happy workforce mean our games will be that much better.”

The focus on S2’s business model is to bridge the gap between causal and experienced gamers while also to continue growing as a company. Through multiplayer online gaming, S2 wants to balance fun, with deep mechanics, and engrossing gameplay for players at all levels.  With this said, the company has set some powerful goals for 2013 – all which are achievable especially if they have a year like last.
